Idaho Drops Season-Opener at UC Irvine
Idaho shot 44.4 percent (12-of-27) from beyond the arc, but just 43.6 percent (24-of-55) from the floor. UCI finished the night 34-of-63 (54.0%) from the floor and 8-of-20 (40.0%) from range.
Trevon Allen finished the night with 8 points and a team-high 5 assists. Allen struggled to find his rhythm shooting 2/12 for the night.
“Very disappointed in the result, but was really happy with our effort. Irvine is a very good basketball team, a very big basketball team. With us being so young, I thought we had a lot of guys step up.” said Coach Verlin
The Vandals were outrebounded, 42-22. It is the first time since Verlin’s first year with the Vandals that Idaho posted a minus-20 rebound margin.
Idaho hosts Nicholls State on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym. Tickets are on sale now at GoVandals.com/Tickets. Season tickets and four-game packs are also on sale.
