Winfield, Kan. – Haskell Indian Nation Indians ruins Southwestern College opening night by way of a 91-67 blowout at the Tara Patterson Memorial Classic.

A three-point barrage was the story for the Indians as a high-paced, high-volume attack was too much for the Lady Builders to keep up with. Overall, the Indians shot 41 total three-point attempts, connecting on 15 of them. The 41 attempts were more than half of their total field goal tries.

Tia Woods was big off the bench again, scoring 14 points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. She also contributed two steals.

Kasey Rice added 18 points and six rebounds.

Janee Bates only had 6 points but she dished out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds.

Other than three-pointers, the other telling difference in the game was turnovers. Southwestern ended the contest with an overwhelming 29 compared to the Indians’ 17. Haskell was able to capitalize off the Lady Builders’ miscues, accounting for 38 points off turnovers.
