NASHVILLE, TN – The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team dropped an, 80-46,
Freshman Terrysha Banner scored in double-digits for the fourth consecutive game and led TSU with 14 points and dished out four assists. Tia Wooten added nine points and four rebounds.
TSU missed its first eight field goals of the game and fell behind 7-0 early. Tigers put together a spurt towards the end of the quarter and cut the deficit to seven points just before Belmont scored to make the score 22-13 after 10 minutes of action.
The Lady Tigers continued to fight and closed to within four when Terrysha Banner drained a triple from the top of the key. However, the Tigers would go cold falling on the road 80-46.
TSU will make the short trip to face Austin Peay on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in Clarksville.
