Trevon Allen Scores 17 In The Battle of the Palouse
PULLMAN, Wash. – A huge second half rally lifted Washington State (5-2) over Idaho (3-5), 90-70, on Wednesday night in the Battle of the Palouse.
The annual matchup lived up to the hype in the early going, with neither team able to take much of a lead in the first half. WSU knocked down a couple buckets late in the frame to take the 45-40 advantage into the break.
The Cougs opened up the second half on an 11-0 run and never looked back from there. Idaho was able to cut into the deficit on a handful of occasions, but was unable to get within single digits, as WSU
Idaho shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the floor and 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from beyond the arc. The Vandals won the rebound battle, 42-37.
Trevon Allen led the way for the Vandals with 17 points, 7 rebounds & 3 assists while shooting 7-of-14 from the field.
Idaho moves to 3-5 on the season. The Vandals will be back home for their next two games before closing out the non-conference portion of the schedule at Santa Clara.
