2023-2024 WIAA 1B/2B All-Tournament Team
Chase Marchand – (5-foot-11 Senior Combo Guard, Lake Roosevelt) Flying under the radar is combo guard, Chase Marchand out of Grand Coulee, WA. Marchand can fill it up quick and has no problem putting the ball in the basket, he averaged 25 points, four rebounds, and four steals at the State Tournament. He was also named Central Washington 2B Player of the year.
Tyler Swan – (6-foot-1 Sophomore Guard/Forward, Neah Bay) Strong, physical, this kid is an absolute beast. I haven’t seen him on the football field but I imagine he’s a nightmare for the opposing team. Swan averaged 15 points and 14.5 rebounds while helping a young Neah Bay squad to a 5th-place finish. He was also Co-MVP of the North Olympic League.
Brandon Pino – (6-foot-0 Senior Point Guard, Lake Roosevelt) One of my favorite players at the WIAA tournament was Pino, he plays hard on both ends and plays for his teammates. Brandon Pino was often guarding the opposing team’s best player. Pino averaged 10 points, 3,5 rebounds, and four assists at the WIAA State Tournament and helped Lake Roosevelt to a 3rd place finish. He was also a Central Washington 1st-Team selection.
Franky Wynne – (6-foot-0 Junior Combo Guard, Wellpinit) Arguably the best player at the State Tournament. Franky is an all-around player that does everything well on court. He plays the game with heart and passion. The Northeast 1B South 1st-Team selection averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game at the WIAA State Tournament.
Ivan Alejandre – (6-foot-1 Junior Combo Guard, Lake Roosevelt) This kid is a college basketball prospect. Ivan can use both hands extremely well and has really good footwork. His handle is better than average and he can finish through contact. He averaged 16 points, six rebounds, and 2.5 assists per at the State Tournament and was also a Central Washington 2nd-Team selection.
Grant Denison III – (6-foot-3 Senior Guard/Forward, Wellpinit) Everything Grant put up at the State Tournament went in. Grant was a bucket. He scored 24.3 points per game while leading the Redskins to back-to-back State Championships. He provided the Wellpinit Redskins a stable presence on both ends of the court.
