Huge 4th quarter and Game Winning three helped Propel the Yaks

YAKIMA, WA – Huge 4th quarter would help propel Yakima Valley Women over Columbia Basin in NWAC East Region play Saturday at home. Yaks would outscore Columbia Basin 26-13 in the 4th to edge the Hawks 70-69.

Kamri Von Oelhoffen led the way with 16 points along with five rebounds. Sophomore guard Trista Takes Enemy scored 12 points and three rebounds off the bench. Jenni Johnson added 10 points, four rebounds, and one steal.

Yaks would play mistake-free throughout the 4th quarter in comparison to the 14 first-half turnovers. This would set up the opportunity for a last-second shot with 4 seconds left. Coach Adam Strom would call a time-out and draw up the masterpiece, leading to the game-winning three by freshman guard Nicole Rasmussen.

Yakima Valley will host Wenatchee Valley Austin Peay on Monday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in Yakima, Washington.
