Pima standout Shauna Bribiescas signs to University of Hawai’i at Hilo

Pima Community College women’s basketball player Shauna Bribiescas (Dobson HS) signed her national letter of intent on Thursday to continue her education and collegiate career.

Bribiescas, a forward, signed to play at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, an NCAA Division II institution out of the Pacific West Conference.

Bribiescas was selected second team NJCAA All-American, second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II this season. She posted 13 double-doubles in points and rebounds and she averaged 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks. Bribiescas played in all 36 games and made 35 starts.

The Aztecs took fifth place at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
