Trevon Allen and the Vandals Fall in Exhibition Opener

Trevon Allen hit the 20 point mark Tuesday night, but the Idaho men’s basketball team fell, 88-81, to Central Washington on Tuesday evening in an exhibition game.

Grad transfer Quinton Forrest started hot, recording six points and four boards in the first 10 minutes, but the Wildcats built an eight point lead by the halftime buzzer.

With just under 10 minutes to play in the second half, the Vandals cut the deficit to three on a steal and slam dunk by Allen and made free throw by Scott Blakney. However, CWU went on a 14-1 run to go up by 16, 77-61, with 6:10 remaining. Idaho slowly chipped away, getting within five, but the home team ran out of time, and ultimately fell.

Trevon Allen finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Fraser tallied 20 points and six boards.

Six players saw action as Vandals for the first time on Tuesday night, with five of them recording their first Idaho points.
