MorningRose Tobey – University of Nevada

MorningRose Tobey is an enrolled member of the Assiniboine Sioux Tribe and plays for the University of Nevada Women’s Basketball Team.

For those that don’t know about MorningRose, you better start doing your research. The former Native American Basketball Invitational MVP played in all 30 games during her rookie season. Wolf Pack will need her presence more then ever with the departure of several key players from last years team. MorningRose is the daughter of Allan Tobey and Kelly Smith. Her mother Kelly, played basketball at Haskell Nations University and her grandfather played basketball at the University of Montana and semi-pro with the Minneapolis Lakers. Tobey is also coached by Tahnee Robinson, another great Native Athlete. In her spare time she dances at powwows, travels and plays softball. (MorningRose was asked to participate on the Nevada Wolfpack Softball Team) Wishing you and the Wolf Pack a great season!
