Native American Showcase – Middle School Boys
Yakima, WA – April 15th-16th ITA Native Sports hosted a 2 day Native American Showcase event at Yakima Valley College. The event brought together talented boys & girls from across the Pacific Northwest & beyond.
The event featured 2 groups Middle School & High School. While there were many good players that participated in the middle school portion of the camp, the top 5 were considered because they separated themselves from the pack.
The top 5 –
Kupkana Leavitt – 2021 – Yakima, WA – 5’11 CG – Leavitt is long athletic guard with great basketball instincts…He has great 3 point range and a great stop & pop pull up J… He earned himself MVP at the Showcase with his excellent performance.
Sacario McQueen – 2021 – Tacoma, WA – 4′10 PG – Mighty mouse is little as heck but he was one of the more skilled at the event. Very small but finds ways to score in traffic and get his shot off. McQueen took home all-Star at the showcase but going forward he’ll need to add some inches in order to compete at a higher level.
Justice Hart – 2022 – Yakima, WA – 5’7 PG/CG – The younger brother of Tarryn Hart isn’t going to have a hard time following in her footsteps…He’s nice with the ball and has a flurry of flashy moves like his sister. He finishes around the rim with both hands with several different moves. Camp all-star shows great potential going forward.
Tyran Lane – 2022 – Bellingham, WA – 6’0 F – Lane the younger brother of Trazil Lane is going to be a special player when he comes into his own. He’s a long athlete, who utilizes ball fakes well. He finished equally as good with his right and left around the basket. Good rebounder and competitor…hustled.
Mylo Jones – 2021 – Yakima, WA – 5’5″ G – Camp All-Star can shoot it from deep, well past 3 point range, handles are top notch, likes to go right…finishes thru contact, high IQ, understands how to play with other high level players. Not only created for himself but also willing to create and facilitate for others.
Best of the Rest –
Moses Seymour – 2021 – Bellingham, WA – 5’9 F – Bigger kid with solid handles, was more than an adequate driver/slasher, & finishes thru contact. He needs to improve his perimeter jumper but shows great potential going forward.
Lester Wahsise – 2021 – Yakima, WA – 5’9 G – If there was a 6th player in the top player list Lester would have made it….and he’s definitely in the conversation. He’s very athletic and utilizes that to his advantage.
Keashaun Waller – 2021 – Tacoma, WA – 6’2 C – Good size at the position…finished around the basket…putbacks and garbage points…made a couple of pull up mid range jumpers.
Max Dawes – 2022 – Yakima, WA – 5’6 F – Understands the game, competes, great IQ…showed some shooting ability…showed he finish with both hands around the basket.
Devin Sampson – 2021 – Yakima, WA – 5’7 – G – Has a big upside and high IQ for the game, but still a little raw in terms of skill development. Made a few 3’s but overall his offensive game needs more polish.
