Idaho State Player of the year Koyama Young signs with North Idaho College

Koyama Young (Yakama Nation), from Lapwai, Idaho, has signed with North Idaho College. She is coming off a stellar high school career. The 5-9 senior guard averaged 18.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.7 steals and 4.1 assists. Idaho State Player of the year and is also a 3-time State Champion with the Lapwai Wildcats.

I had the pleasure of seeing Young i April at the ITA Showcase & All-Star Game Event at the Yakima Valley CC. Young was selected for the top 16 All-Star game at the camp and earned the high school girls MVP.

“Koyama Young – 2017 – Lapwai, ID – 5’9″ CG – Such a fun player to watch! Great attitude, competitive, athletic and a solid handle. Great scorer with a variety of moves to get shot off. Good on ball defense, fundamentals are solid. Young was Named MVP of the 2017 Native American Showcase. She recently signed her Letter of Intent to play at North Idaho College.”- via Showcase Recap
