Why should you be National Native American Player of The Year? Ft. Trazil Lane

My name is Trazil Lane and I believe I’m the National Player of the Year because I participated in three different sports Football,Track & Field, and Basketball. I was also the team captain in all three sports. My top sport is basketball, that’s where my heart is at and I have trained everyday, and dedicated my life to basketball. Basketball is my love and passion to thrive to be the best. This year I was also ASB President and Class Salutatorian at Lummi Nation School!!

 

Some of the achievements I’ve accomplished at Lummi Nation….

 

-Football achievements: 2nd place in state 2x 3rd place in state First team All league all purpose First team All county all purpose Multi-Athlete of Week

 

-Basketball achievements: 3x League MVP 4x First Team all- league 2x AP Player of the Year WIBCA 1B Player of the Year 2000+ Points, 1000+ Rebounds, 500+ Blocks, 200+ assists and 300+ Steals 2015 STATE CHAMPS 28-0 2nd place 2017 Team of the Year by the Governor I’m also the Native Top 50 “MVP!!” I’m currently playing in Jamal Crawford’s Pro-am Summer league for the second year in a row! With and against NBA & Over seas Professional basketball players!!

 

-Track achievements: 2 time 2nd in state 200 meter dash 3rd and 6th in state for long jump 4th in high jump as a sophomore 1st in state 4×100 (set the state record) (Also set district and tri-district record for the 4×100) 2015 BOYS TEAM STATE CHAMPS

 

I have excelled in every sport I participated in. I’m a hard working multi-sport athlete at Lummi Nation School. I believe in giving back to my community, my tribe, my people!! No matter where your from, when any Native Athlete succeed we all succeed!!

  1. Very proud and honored to have witnessed Trazil during his high school career. He was very fun to watch as he was a 4year starter on varsity in three different sports. Not only did he compete, he dominated in all the sports. His game was above the rim and quick enough to defend the whole court or field. With his love for the game of basketball, he was traveling year round playing with elite AAU teams and starting for the teams. Football came easy for him as his height and jumping abilities Gave opponents fits trying to cover him and catching every ball thrown towards his way. He deserves to be Native Player of the Year. And he has my vote!
