ITA Comes Up Short In Opening Game

Vancouver, BC – ITA Native Sports (0-1) came up short against the Kingdom of Hawaii 102-93 in their opening game at the World Indigenous Basketball Challenge. Former Washington St. walk-on and Haskell University guard George Hill III (Suquamish) led the way for ITA with 24 points in the loss to Kingdom of Hawaii.

Ivory Miles-Williams (Nez Perce) a recent College of Idaho commit also contributed 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists for ITA Native Sports. He looked poised beyond his years  in the opening game against national competition. College of Idaho got a good one.

ITA ended the game with 5 double figure scorers with Tisen Fryberg (Tulalip) adding 18 points and Trazil Lane (Lummi) chipping in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Darren Six (Dine/Navajo) the veteran of the group finished with 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Six was derailed by foul trouble throughout the game.

ITA Native Sports takes on the Bermuda National Basketball team tomorrow at 8 AM and will be live streamed via World Indigenous Basketball Challenge website.
