Bronson Koenig netted 17 points in Grand Rapids loss to Salt Lake City Stars

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — The Salt Lake City Stars were able to drive past Grand Rapids for a 118-104 win at Bruin Arena Tuesday night.

In a game that they never trailed, the Stars came out hot in the first quarter shooting .565 from the field for the frame and built a 14-point lead. The Stars continued their hot shooting for the first half going into the break up by 12.

Salt Lake City led by as many as 24-points with 3:31 left in the third. The Stars were able to withstand an early fourth quarter comeback as the Drive cut the lead to nine. Salt Lake City extended their lead to 14 at the end of regulation.

All five Salt Lake City’s starters netted double-digits. Isaiah Cousins finished with a game-high 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting. Erik McCree poured in 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting and was +31 on the night. Georges Niang added 16 points and reserve Diamond Stone chipped in 15 points.

Grand Rapids Marcus Thornton came off the bench to lead the Drive with 20 points. Bronson Koenig netted 17 points on the night.
